All Aboard the Potty Train...

Last summer Malachi became very interested in the potty and we let him start wearing Pull-ups.  He would sit on it but never did much and then became very disinterested in it.  We've talked A LOT about it since then.  And I'm happy to report that our little man is going pee-pee in the potty quite often now!!!  Praise the Lord :)  Looks like the small box of thrift store treasures serves as motivation.  I bought several ziploc bags full of small cars and other plastic toys for little $ and added some stickers and Twizzlers (his favorite) to the box.  Now whenever he goes in the potty he can choose a prize.  He's racking up and Mommy needs to make another thrift store run!  But it's all worth it - I can tell he's so proud of himself.  And he's actually wearing big boy underwear while he's here during the weekend days -- even to Wal-Mart today.  Good job, Malachi :)

New Target Friend

First of all, let me apologize for not keeping up with this blog very well :(  I will try much harder in the future - I promise!

I took Malachi to Target this morning.  We were in search of some toddler bedding and a pillow for the big boy!  Malachi is generally very friendly and will speak to almost anyone who looks at him (and some who do not).  I was pushing the cart down the main aisle near the bedding section when Malachi began talking to an older gentleman as he walked past us.  He told him a "story" about riding a horse and falling down and bumping his head (I have no idea where this came from).  This man was so taken with Malachi - he stood in the aisle for a good 5 minutes and interacted with Malachi like he was his grandchild.  It was too sweet.  He shook Malachi's hand and even rubbed his back - telling Malachi that he was such a good little boy, a blessing even!  He introduced himself as Daryl.  We finally said our goodbyes.  A few minutes later, Malachi said "Where's Uncle Daryl?"  I just had to laugh -- and a little while later we ran into Daryl again.  This time he had his wife with him.  Daryl introduced Malachi to his wife - saying "This is the little boy I was telling you about.  Isn't he just precious?"  Malachi thought that Daryl's wife (her name is escaping me) looked like Nana :)
